I started out as a primary school teacher, teaching art. It was after the birth of my second daughter that I started to focus on becoming a ceramicist, and I received my qualification in this field at 40. For many years my main interest lay in Raku ceramics, but nowadays I'm also focused on stoneware paperclay.
I like to think of having two slightly separate directions for my ceramics
There is an artistic line, where I focus mostly on fragmentation of matter, creases, surface tears, and the displacement of form.
My more tableware line includes creating practical objects to surround ourselves with, running under a different brandname, Origami Ceramics.
