Anna Erdő(s)
Ceramic Artist

I like to think of my ceramics activity as journeys on different roads.

On the one hand, I create objects that interest me visually. These are unique pieces where exciting surfaces are given great emphasis. Faces, or bodies/torsos, which are shaped from the inside, pushed out from the raw clay, tapped or thrown. At all times, I'm excited by the movement, by diverging from symmetry, by imperfections - the cracking, the breaking, the tearing. These pieces might be classified as "narrative ceramics", which is not very fashionable currently. I don't mind that though.

Taking another route, I also produce tableware objects, mugs, bowls, vases, under a separate brandname, Origami Ceramics.

I have a third focus, and that is teaching. Rather than holding workshops, I provide education offering more thorough knowledge, lasting two academic years.
